5034 Corfe Castle Introduced into service in May 1935. Designed by Collett and built at Swindon 31.05.1935. A double chimney and 4-row superheater fitted during the locomotive’s last Heavy General overhaul, which include boiler HD7699 and tender change and took place at the Swindon Works between December 1960 and 10th February 1961. Last shed 81A Old Oak Common. Withdrawn 30.09.1962. Recorded mileage 1,250,714 service life 27years 4 months. Driving wheels 6’ 8” TE 31625lbs.  Loco weight 79 tons 17cwt Tender 46 tons 14cwt. Walschaerts inside valve gear. Pressure 225lb per square inch.  Engine cost to build in 1935 £5914.00
